Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson reunited Saturday night to celebrate their first Super Bowl-winning team on the 28th anniversary of the day Jones bought the team, fired Tom Landry and hired his former Arkansas teammate as coach. The reunion of the 1992 team, pitched as a 25th anniversary celebration, was engineered by quarterback Troy Aikman, who was joined by all-time NFL rushing leader Emmitt Smith and receiver Michael Irvin.

AP source: 49ers sign DT Earl Mitchell to 4-year deal (Yahoo Sports)

The San Francisco 49ers agreed to a four-year contract with free-agent defensive tackle Earl Mitchell on Friday. A person familiar with the deal confirmed that Mitchell had decided to join the Niners just over a week after being released by Miami. NFL.com first reported the deal, saying Mitchell would get a $16 million deal with $5.5 million paid in the first year.

(AP) — ��� Jameis Winston is back in the spotlight – and not in a positive light – for what he described as a “poor word choice” in comments about women during a talk to Florida grade school students. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, who was accused of raping another student while at Florida State University but never charged, spoke for nearly 40 minutes to third through fifth graders at Melrose Elementary in St. Petersburg during an appearance this week. When some of the students started getting fidgety, Winston told boys in the audience to stand up and girls to sit down, the Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/2mkiPhJ ) reported.

Denver, Cleveland, Cincinnati, KC get 4 extra draft picks (Yahoo Sports)

Denver, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Kansas City each will get four compensatory picks in April’s NFL draft while Seattle will have two additional selections in the third round. The NFL announced the distribution of the 32 compensatory picks Friday. Teams losing more or better free agents than they acquire the previous year are eligible to receive additional picks, based on a formula that factors salary, playing time and postseason honors.
