Dolphins officials duck questions about underachiever Jordan (Yahoo Sports)

When given a chance Friday to voice support for underachieving defensive end Dion Jordan, Miami Dolphins officials took a pass. The overall No. 3 pick in the 2013 draft skipped voluntary workouts this week, raising questions about his status. General manager Dennis Hickey and new executive vice president of football operations Mike Tannenbaum met with reporters to talk about next week’s draft, but the conversation quickly turned to Jordan’s absence from the workouts. ”And if somebody chooses not to be here, that’s obviously their decision.” Later, after Hickey talked about the need to draft players who love football, he and Tannenbaum were asked if Jordan had that kind of love for the game.

Goodell: LA projects viable for bringing back team (Yahoo Sports)

Roger Goodell says the two stadium projects in the Los Angeles area look promising enough to lead to the return of the NFL to the nation’s second-largest city. The NFL commissioner told the Associated Press Sports Editors group Friday that he thinks the projects in Inglewood and Carson are ”viable,” and have a ”great deal of potential to be successful.” ”We had presentations earlier this week that are very exciting,” Goodell said. ”Not just for a return but to continue being successful going forward.” St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke is involved in the Inglewood project, while the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders have combined to work on the Carson proposal.

Leaders of the effort to build a new NFL stadium in St. Louis said Friday they remain optimistic about a plan they say would retain a team and help redevelop a blighted part of the city. Members of the St. Louis stadium task force made their case directly to league officials in New York on Wednesday. Task force leaders David Peacock and Robert Blitz spoke Friday for the first time since then, though they declined to discuss specifics of the 40-minute presentation or the league’s response to the effort to either keep the Rams or attract another team if owner Stan Kroenke moves the franchise to Los Angeles. ”There was nothing coming out of this meeting to make us change course.” The St. Louis group showed the NFL officials revised renderings and video of plans for a stadium along the Mississippi River that would cost around $1 billion.

New Bills owners, new Buffalo Bills

The 2015 NFL offseason has been a different one for the Buffalo Bills. This is the first full offseason for the Bills without their founder and original owner, Ralph Wilson who passed away in March 2014, and first offseason for new Bills owners Kim and Terry Pegula. The Pegula’s first big move in the offseason was hiring a big name coach, Rex Ryan. The last time the Bills hired a big name coach…

2014, the season of “What if’s” for the Buffalo Bills

The 2014 season was a season of should’ve, could’ve and what if’s for the Buffalo Bills.

What if Kyle Orton started from Week 1, would the Bills be in the playoffs?
What if Kyle Orton was a Bill throughout training camp and preseason, would he have been more effective?
The Bills should’ve beaten the Chiefs and Texans
If the Bills had a better QB, they could’ve been in the playoffs
If the Bills…

15 years and counting…

With yesterday’s loss to the Oakland Raiders, it officially put the final nail in the coffin of the 2014 season for the Buffalo Bills. In years past, the Bills were eliminated from playoff contention in November, so they made it to Week 15 this year without being eliminated. Sadly, this is the 15th year in a row that the Bills are not playing in the playoffs. It seems like such an eternity ago…

It’s deja vu again for the Bills offense

Another week, another ugly performance by the Bills offense yesterday as they lost to the Houston Texans 23-17. It seemed as if nothing could go right for the Bills offense as it sputtered in so many areas. Texans DT JJ Watt terrorized the entire offense line yesterday as EJ Manuel could not get comfortable in the pocket. And even when Manuel did have time, he was wildly inaccurate. The Bills…

Bills take two steps forward, then one step backwards

The Bills started the 2014 season off hot with winning their first two games, then fizzled in game three versus the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers rebounded from a week 1 loss to the Cardinals to beat the defending Superbowl Champion Seattle Seahawks.

The Bills defense held the Chargers to 20 points, who had previously scored 30 points on one of the best defenses in the league a week prior….

Bills fans have plenty to “Shout” about

On one the biggest opening days in Buffalo Bills history this past Sunday, the Bills soundly defeated the Miami Dolphins by a score of 29-10.
By the way the crowd at Ralph Wilson stadium was on Sunday, you would have thought this was a flashback to the 1990’s when the Bills played in four AFC Championship games. Bills fans had lots to celebrate about as their Hall of Fame Quarterback, Jim Kelly,…
